We welcome you to stay at Fårögården Bed & Breakfast or Hostel and take the opportunity to experience Swedish legendary director Ingmar Bergman’s mythical island with its particular light, tranquillity, culture, stunning beaches, people and nature; once you are here it is easy to understand why the prominent film maker made Fårö his personal island retreat.
Fårögården is splendidly located in distinctive Fårö surroundings, conveniently near seaside spot Sudersand and its magnificent beaches. Sudersand was recently voted one of the world’s very best beaches by Swedish biggest daily newspaper, Dagens Nyheter and waking up at Fårögården you’re only a 10-minute walk away from a morning swim! In addition to breathtaking beaches, most of the island’s restaurants, shops and the well known bakery Sylvis Döttrar (Sylvi’s Daughters) are also close by. In 2012 Fårögården opens for the season 1st of June and is open to the end of August.
Fårögården Bed & Breakfast – in the main building of Fårögården, a former school that dates back to mid 19th century, we today offer you accomodation in B&B facilities with focus on personal attention and service. Rooms are simple but modern and with lots of light; the bacic double rooms have two twin beds while the bigger Superior rooms feature a queen size bed. Showers and wash rooms are adjacent to the rooms and bed linen, towels and breakfast as well as cleaning after check-out are of course included in the charge for the room. Fårögården B&B boasts both a beautiful patio and a salon where you anytime during the day can enjoy a coffee, watch TV or perhaps flip through one of the many books and magazines available.
Fårögården B&B – price per night:
Basic Double room (two twin beds): 920 SEK
Superior Double room (queen size): 1 090 SEK
Extra bed (only in Superior room): 285 SEK for kids and 420 SEK for adults
Fårögården Hostel – In addition to the Bed & Breakfast Fårögården also offer accomodation at its hostel which is housed in an annex that was added in the late 1980s. The hostel has a total of 28 beds set up in rooms for 2 or 4 people with bunk beds. Adjacent to the rooms guests will find showers, washrooms as well as a kitchen area for cooking, eating and socialize. At the hostel bed linen and towels are not included in the price, but are available for rental. Guests are responsible for tidying up their room before checking out.
Fårögården Hostel – price per night:2-person bedroom with bunk bed: 595 SEK
4-person bedroom with bunk beds: 900-1 190 SEK depending on number of people and children.
Price for children below 12: 180 SEK
Extra bed (available in the rooms that sleep 4): 150 SEK for kids and 190 SEK for adults
Bed linen rental: 140 SEK; Towel rental: 30 SEK

Finding Us
By car - from Visby, take road 148, direction Fårösund, where you will take a car ferry to Fårö. Getting off the ferry on Fårö, continue driving approximately 14 km (about 8.7 miles) and at the sign Fårögården you take right. At the next junction take a left and drive about 300 meters (0.2 miles) and you will see Fårögården on your right side.

Recreation and leisure activities around Fårö and Fårögården
Fårö on wheels – Fårö is best experienced by bike. Rent one at Fårögården and set out on an excursion among rauks, sheep and sandy beaches! We are happy to share information regarding Fårö’s must-sees as well as our own favourite secret spots. Bike rental: 80 SEK per day.
Restaurang Simunds Fårögården – Returning to Fårögården after a day of exploring or a sunny day on the beach guests are welcome to relax at Restaurant Simunds Fårögården, that serve good food and drinks all day. For reservations call +46 702 18 67 17.
